Frequently Asked
Questions |
1.
Do I have to be an experienced pageant competitor or have competed
in this pageant or it's preliminaries before to win?
NO. Quite often our
competitors are the “women next door.”
2. Do I need a pageant coach to prepare?
NO. Even though some contestants wish to seek
expert advice, we do not see this reflected in the overall outcome
of the pageant. Focus on being at your “personal best!”
We have an experienced staff to help you with any questions you may
have, and the Director is delighted to work with each contestant.
3.
Do I have to be a certain size or height to win this pageant?
NO. Physical fitness is a factor in the
scoring of the fitness wear portion, but is only a small percentage
compared to your overall scores. Physical fitness is
important, but contestants are judged in four categories—evening
gown, personal interview, on-stage question and fitness. The most
important of these is the interview. Your height and
measurements are not a factor in our judging.
4. What is a
platform, and do I need one to compete?
YES. Our pageant is based on making a
difference in your community however large or small. We regard
any community service you have performed as a platform, or any cause
you may be passionate about, and encourage you to get involved with
your community. If you are having trouble deciding on a
platform, we have a handout for you with ideas.
5.
Do I receive any gifts or acknowledgement for participating if I do
not win? YES. The prize packages are
very generous for the winners, but our sponsors give a beautiful
swag bag of goodies to each delegate, PLUS we award many
trophies on stage for Community Service, Photogenic,
Director's Award, and in each category of Interview, Evening Gown,
and Fitness.
6.
If I win do I have to quit my job or put my family life on hold?
NO.
Our program is an excellent
vehicle that encourages your success. We would never advocate
quitting your job, or school, or putting family activities on hold,
this is abbut using your year as our state
titleholder to help obtain your personal goals!
7.
If I have any other questions, may I contact the Director?
YES. Michael Galanes is the State Director for
the Florida International Pageants and welcomes all questions.
You may contact him via email at
Director@flpageants.com.
